TREAT YOURSELF LIKE A FRIEND

A 4-Week Journey to Self-Compassion
with Emma Rivera-Gustinis
Buda Studio
Beginning August 1 | 2:00 - 3:30 PM

What if you spoke to yourself the way you speak to someone you love?

Most of us would never say to a friend the things we tell ourselves every day. We judge, criticize, rush, and expect more from ourselves than we would ever expect from anyone else. But what if there was another way?

Treat Yourself Like a Friend is a four-week workshop series designed to help you cultivate greater self-compassion through intentional movement, mindful breathing, guided reflection, and journaling. Each 90-minute session offers practical tools to calm the nervous system, increase self-awareness, and create a more supportive relationship with yourself.

Rather than striving to become someone different, this series invites you to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the person you've been all along.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, navigating stress, or simply longing for more balance, you'll leave each session with practices that can support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being long after the series ends.

What You'll Experience

  • Breathwork to help regulate the nervous system

  • Gentle, mindful movement suitable for all levels

  • Guided reflection and journaling

  • Practical tools for developing self-compassion

  • A welcoming, supportive community

  • Sustainable practices you can integrate into everyday life

Weekly Themes

Session 1: Listen Instead of Judging
What if you approached yourself with curiosity instead of criticism? Through grounding movement and mindful reflection, we'll practice listening to our bodies, emotions and needs with the same compassion we offer a friend.

Session 2: Living Unhurried
In a world that constantly asks us to move faster and do more, this week invites us to slow down. Through breath-centered and intentional movement, we'll explore what it means to release urgency and make room for patience, rest and grace.

Session 3: Strong and Supported
Strength and self-compassion are not opposites. Through an energizing practice and thoughtful reflection, we’ll consider what it means to trust our bodies and honor our resilience, recognizing that we are capable of more than we often give ourselves credit for. Together, we’ll practice staying on our own side and offering ourselves support every step of the way.

Session 4: Coming Home to Yourself
Through restorative movement and deep rest, we'll be invited to consider a sense of belonging within ourselves. Together, we'll reflect on what it means to become a safe place to rest and to treat ourselves not only with kindness, but as a friend.

THE SIGNAL WITHIN

A Sound Bath for Stillness & Inner Frequency
with Amanda Rivera
Lockhart Studio
August 2 | 6:30 - 7:30 PM

Before we can hear anything else, we have to quiet the static. This sound bath is a space to turn inward, to relax the body, settle an overstimulated nervous system, and listen for the signal that's already there.

We'll begin with a guided meditation to help you release tension and reconnect inward, moving out of the noise of the day and into stillness. From there, we move into a full sound journey with crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes and resonant frequencies that support your body in shifting into deeper, more restorative brainwave states.

This isn't about reaching for an answer. It's about getting quiet enough to hear what's already true: the intuition, the knowing, the frequency that's been there under the static all along.

Come as you are. Leave lighter, clearer, and more connected to your own signal.

Bring a mat, a blanket, and anything that helps you get comfortable: pillows, an eye mask, and water. All levels welcome, no experience necessary.

SONIC MANIFESTATIONS, BREATHWORK, AND SOUND

Buda Studio | August 8 | 7:00 - 8:30 PM
With Ellie Bostwick

This class combines a 30-minute guided breathwork journey with live electronic music played by Ellie, followed by a restorative sound bath with her crystal bowls, moon gong, ocean drum, and chimes.

Combining breathwork and sound healing is an incredibly effective way to remove stored trauma from the body and create space for healing and ultimately living your best life. Manifesting works by the law of attraction, in other words, by believing you already have what you want without any doubts. Most of us are preconditioned to think this isn’t possible, but Ellie’s class will discuss how to remove those negative thoughts and activate your true potential. Feel free to bring a notepad with a list of what you want to manifest.

Lockhart Studio
August 15 | 2:00 - 4:00 PM

Whether you're curious about Ashtanga or looking to build a stronger foundation for your practice, this workshop is the perfect place to begin. Designed for beginners and students who want to refine the fundamentals, you'll gain a deeper understanding of what makes the Ashtanga method one of the world's most respected yoga traditions.

You'll learn not only what to do, but why these elements are practiced together and how they create strength, focus, flexibility, and mindfulness both on and off the mat.

Following the educational portion of the workshop, you'll step onto the mat for a guided practice designed to reinforce what you've learned. This supportive practice gives you the opportunity to experience the rhythm of Ashtanga while asking questions and receiving guidance in a welcoming, beginner-friendly environment.

PRESENT AND PREPARED

A Hands-On Prenatal Workshop for Expecting Couples
with Makensey Flores | Birth Doula
Buda Studio
August 29 | 2:00 - 4:00 PM

Prepare for birth with confidence, connection, and practical skills.

Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, hoping for a low-intervention experience, or simply want to understand your options before making decisions, Present and Prepared is designed to help you and your birth partner feel calm, informed, and ready for labor.

This workshop focuses on the hands-on techniques that make a difference during labor. You'll learn practical comfort measures, breathing strategies, movement, positioning, and partner-support skills to help you navigate each stage of labor with greater confidence. Quick note: this is not a childbirth education class! This class is all about the hands-on, practical side of labor support. If you haven't taken a childbirth education class yet, we highly recommend pairing one with this workshop for a well-rounded birth preparation experience.

Together, we'll explore:

  • The stages and signs of labor

  • Early labor versus active labor

  • Breathing and mindfulness techniques for pregnancy and birth

  • Comfort measures and labor positions for every stage

  • How your partner can provide meaningful physical and emotional support

  • The role of hydration and nutrition during labor

  • Adapting your birth support if your plans change, including epidurals or limited mobility

We'll begin by discussing your goals, questions, and any concerns you may have, creating a supportive and welcoming environment where you can learn together, ask questions, and leave feeling empowered for birth.

Throughout the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to practice each technique together through guided, hands-on exercises and simulated contractions, helping you build confidence before your baby's arrival. You'll also receive take-home worksheets and a class summary so you can continue preparing together at home.

This workshop is perfect for:

  • Expecting couples preparing for labor and birth

  • First-time parents

  • Families planning a low-intervention or unmedicated birth

  • Anyone wanting practical labor support techniques before making decisions about pain management

Join us for an encouraging, hands-on experience designed to strengthen your partnership and help you feel present, prepared, and confident as you welcome your baby into the world.
